Paphiopedilum rothschildianum 'Mont Millais' x self, seedling
Details
‘Mont Millais’ x self, first picture is of the mother plant. Last two pictures are of the plant for sale. It is a moderately sized seedling.
The plant that mothered multiple generations of the best roths in the world, Mont Millais is notable for its dark color and full sepals. This selfing might replicate some of the best older generation roths and will be exciting to bloom out. I’m sadly letting this one go to make room for some crazier things.
Imposing when mature, Paphiopedilum rothschildianum is possibly the most line-bred and most valuable slipper orchid species. The sometimes foot-wide flowers stand on tall flower spikes, but variability is huge among just the species itself in flower shape and color. Because of this, collectors seek pedigreed plants from reputable sources, which is hard to do nowadays due to a middleman mislabeling the breeding stock of one of the largest Paph growers in the US. The seedlings listed here should result true to parentage since they come from a separate source. An investment for the patient connoisseur willing to wait the 3+ years to grow and bloom these out.
Shipping + Returns
Shipping will be done typically during the beginning of the week via USPS priority mail or UPS 3 day. Seeds or spores can be shipped via USPS ground unless otherwise stated in the description.
Due to potential issues with agricultural restrictions, I am unable to ship to Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii at this time. I am a one person operation and grow everything out of a tiny apartment. As such, please be patient with orders. I unfortunately do not usually offer refunds for damages during shipping but privately contact me and we can work something out.
