Details

'T-Rex' (first image) x 'Tarantula' (second image). Last few images are of the exact seedlings available. They are a bit chlorotic due to light intensity but will color up once grown in more shade. I just don't have a shadier spot for them.

This is the absolute pinnacle of modern Japan rex-based rothschildianum breeding. ‘T-Rex’ was the first to bloom from the cross of ‘Rex’ x ‘Tarantula’, and it turned out to be the best of the bunch in terms of flower shape and size, reaching a whopping 33.5 cm spread in its 2023 blooming! ‘Tarantula’ needs no introduction and has mothered multiple generations of the best rothschildianums since it’s upgraded award in 2008 with a legendary 39 cm spread.

Imposing when mature, Paphiopedilum rothschildianum is possibly the most line-bred and most valuable slipper orchid species. The sometimes foot-wide flowers stand on tall flower spikes, but variability is huge among just the species itself in flower shape and color. Because of this, collectors seek pedigreed plants from reputable sources, which is hard to do nowadays due to a middleman mislabeling the breeding stock of one of the largest Paph growers in the US. The seedlings listed here should result true to parentage since they come from a separate source. I can’t keep all of them so I have to let go of some. An investment for the patient connoisseur willing to wait the 4+ years to grow and bloom these out.

Shipping + Returns

Shipping will be done typically during the beginning of the week via USPS priority mail or UPS 3 day. Seeds or spores can be shipped via USPS ground unless otherwise stated in the description.

Due to potential issues with agricultural restrictions, I am unable to ship to Arizona, Alaska, and Hawaii at this time. I am a one person operation and grow everything out of a tiny apartment. As such, please be patient with orders. I unfortunately do not usually offer refunds for damages during shipping but privately contact me and we can work something out.
